The football season enters the final week of the regular season, with many schools having just one contest remaining before the playoffs start. In Central Pennsylvania, reigning 4A state champions, Bishop McDevitt, continue to impress. A dominating 42-0 win over Mifflin County on October 20th moved the team to 9-0 and has resulted in them being jolted into the top 100 MaxPreps national rankings.

The win was the team’s 22nd straight. Junior play-caller Stone Saunders continued to play well, as he threw for 287 yards and 4 touchdowns. His lone mistake came on an interception that Mifflin County was unable to capitalize on. Saunders favorite target, senior wide receiver Rico Scott, also had a strong night as he hauled in two touchdowns to go along with 97 yards. While on the defensive side, Bishop McDevitt forced two turnovers and had five sacks. The Crusaders finish out their regular season on the road against 6-3 Lower Dauphin on Friday, October 27th.

Elsewhere around Central Pennsylvania, Manheim Township (3rd ranked) and Harrisburg (13th ranked) are in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania top 25 and were in action. State College, who was in the top 25 last week, fell to 41 with their second straight loss, this time a 17-10 defeat at the hands of Cumberland Valley.
