Pennsylvania’s unemployment was 4.3% in January, according to state data released on Friday.
The January unemployment rate is a 0.4 percentage point increase from the record low of 3.9% recorded by the Department of Labor and Industry in December 2022.
The commonwealth’s January 2023 unemployment rate is 0.2 percentage points below its January 2022 unemployment rate, data showed.
Nationally, the unemployment rate was 3.4% in January, down one-tenth of a percentage point from 3.5% in December 2022.
In Pennsylvania, non-farm jobs were up 14,800 over the month to 6,085,800 in January.
