Harrisburg Employment Data February 2022

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) most recently updated their labor force and employment related data for Harrisburg, PA. This most recent labor force data includes an analysis of Nonfarm employment through February 2022.

Some key figures for Harrisburg relate to the overall fall in unemployment from 19,774 unemployed in February 2021 to 11,842 unemployed in February 2022, bringing down the unemployment rate from 6.6 percent to 3.9 percent over 12 months.

Total Nonfarm employment (in departments such as mining, transportation, education, hospitality, etc) also grew from about 331,100 to 347,000, representing an increase in the employment rate.

“We can’t play catch up. We can’t start from behind. We can’t let Dems get a big head start and think we’re going to win it all on Election Day,” Republican National Committee chair Ronna McDaniel said in November on a conference call aimed at promoting the group’s Bank Your Vote initiative to encourage early and mail voting. “Things happen on Election Day.”
