As released in the Bureau of Labor Statistics report earlier last month, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in August, down from 4.3 percent in July.
Locally, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released on September 28, the State College metropolitan area unemployment rate fell from 3.9 percent in July to 3.8 percent in August. In Harrisburg, the unemployment rate stayed the same at 3.9 percent in both July and August.
The data shows good signs of economic recovery as the state continues to recover from job losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
