The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) most recently updated their labor force and employment related data for Harrisburg, PA. Titled “Economy at a Glance,” the list of data includes two data series: 1) Labor Force Data and 2) Nonfarm Wage and Salary Employment Data.
Some key figures for Harrisburg relate to the overall fall in unemployment from 17,051 unemployed in December 2020 to 9,445 unemployed in December 2021, from a rate of 5.8 percent to 3.6 percent.
Total Nonfarm employment (in departments such as mining, transportation, education, hospitality, etc) also grew from about 334,000 to 346,500, a 3.8 percent increase.
